Virender Sehwag, the undisputed king of Twitter in the cricketing world, who made birthday exciting in a new way altogether today stood at the receiving end of all the love and affection he spread throughout the last year.
The legendary opener today celebrates his 39th birthday today, and it was no surprise that his Twitter following decided to pay him a special tribute to mark the occasion.
Most of the birthday wishes were sarcastic one-liners and funny shayaris which is quite akin to the way Sehwag prefers to wish his loved ones and other cricketing legends. Sehwag was also in the mood to have fun too as he decided to reply back to his fans and friends in his trademark style.
That being said, while all the jokes were being cracked and the celebrations were going in, Sachin Tendulkar made a distinguished entry and delivered an internet breaking tweet that left everyone amused.
Sachin Tendulkar wrote:
.ǝɯ ɯoɹɟ ǝuo s,ǝɹǝɥ os. pןǝıɟ uo noʎ pןoʇ ǝʌɐɥ ı ʇɐɥʍ ɟo ɐʇןn ǝuop sʎɐʍןɐ ǝʌ,noʎ ˙ɹɐǝʎ ʍǝu ǝɥʇ oʇ ʇɹɐʇs ʇɐǝɹƃ ɐ ǝʌɐɥ ¡nɹıʌ ‘ʎɐpɥʇɹıq ʎddɐɥ.
The words seemed very confusing at first glance. It almost felt as if were some English script of some European language but funnily Sachin used a simple trick to outwit everyone.
He wrote the entire message backwards.
It is easy to figure it out but here’s what he actually meant: “Happy birthday, Viru. Have a great start to the new-year. You’ve always done ulta of what I have told you on field. So here’s one from me.”
Love from Godji
Sachin and Sehwag share a special bond with each other described as of a “Guru – Shishya” (master-protégé).
Viru even calls him fondly as “Godji” and has regarded Sachin as a source of inspiration and confidence during his career.
The two superstar batsman together formed a potent opening pair of India, featuring in 121 matches together for India and hammered 5328 runs together. These runs scoring spectacles also witnessed 15 centuries and 22 half-centuries.
For Sehwag individually, Tendulkar happens to be his second most successful opening partner after his state-mate Gautam Gambhir with whom he played 151 matches and scored 7183 runs collectively.
Sehwag flattered by the gesture
Later, a humbled Sehwag followed up with a quick reply.
Thank you God ji Uparwala sab dekh raha hai, yeh to suna tha, par aaj samajh aaya, woh neeche waalon ke liye likhta kaise hai!
